could比can語氣更客氣,更含尊重的意味;

(1) how long是就 for + 時間段和 since + 詞/詞組或句子提問

how soon是就 in + 時間段提問,一般和將來時連用.

how often是就與單位時間裏動作或狀態發生頻率的詞組提問的.

如:How long may I keep this book? You can keep it for two weeks.

How soon will he come back? He’ll come back in an hour.

How often do you go to the park? I go to the park once a week.

(2)be away“離開、外出、缺席”,如:

He has been away from here for a long time.

How long have you been away from school last term?

4. How to search the internet..怎樣查找因特網.

search…for在…中搜尋,搜查,如:

The policemen searched the woods for a lost child.

5. We can have a good time no matter if we go…無論我們去…,我們都會玩得很愉快.

(1)have a good/ nice/wonderful time玩得愉快,也可以説 enjoy oneself.如:

Last Sunday we had a wonderful time.或者説 Last Sunday we enjoyed ourselves very much.

cost表示“花錢”如:How much is the book?也可以説 How much does the book cost? take表示“花時間”,如:

(1)think about考慮(尤指計劃、建議等)如:I’m thinking about a plan.

(2)think about/of覺得怎樣,如:What do you think about/of China?

sounds really cool!聽起來確實很酷!

連繫動詞除be動詞外,還有sound聽起來,look看起來,task嚐起來,smell聞起來,feel感覺等,及後常接形容詞構成系表結構,如:

The music sounds beautiful. She looks fine. The food tastes delicious. The soup smells good. He is feeling terrible today.

典型例題

本單元的難點是由連接代詞和副詞引導的賓語從句.

Where does Lin Feng live? Do you know?合成主從複合句:

De you know Where Lin Feng lives?

賓語從句是陳述句的語序,即引導詞 + 主語 + 謂語 + 其它.將疑問句變為賓語從句時,要變語序.即:如果主語前是連繫動詞(be)、助動詞、情態動詞, 要將它們移到主語的後面去.如:Can you tell me when the ship will leave?如果主語前是助動詞do,does,did,則要將它們去掉,後面的動詞要保持相應的形式.如:Can you tell us when he came?

注:①疑問詞作主語時,句子本身為陳述句語序,此時不必顛倒語序,如:

【誤】Do you know which the nearest way is to the station?

【正】Do you know which is the nearest way to the station?

②在由do,does,did構成否定的疑問句裏,變賓語從句時,則不能去掉.

【誤】Can you tell me why you not come here earlier yesterday?

【正】Can you tell me why you didn’t come here earlier yesterday?

組成複合句:

[例 1]When did they come here? Could you tell me?

Could you tell me when they came here?

[例2]Which is the East Hospital? Please tell us.

Please tell us which is the East Hospital.

Which在句中是主語,所以不要寫成which the East Hospital is.

解析 動詞不定式帶疑問詞,應將疑問詞放在其前,動詞不定式的否定結構也應把not放在其前,如:Ask the child not to play football in the street.

解析 find“發現成到”,如:I looked for my pen everywhere,but I couldn’t find out(通過研究、計算或探詢)獲知、探知、得知.如:Read this passage and find out who was the doctor.

誤:Do you know what city on Hainan Island they are flying to by air?

解析 fly=go…by air / by plane.

7.我們將於12月 8日返回.

誤:We’11 return back on the 8th of December.

正:We’11 return on the 8th of December.

解析 return = come back.

8.你能告訴我那是不是一輛快車?

誤:Could you tell me if that’s fast train or not?

正:Could you tell me whether that’s a fast train or not?

解析 if和whether表“是否”,都可以引導賓語從句,但 if不能與 or not連用,而whether則可以.

9.請告訴我,我們得見誰.

誤:Please tell me that who(whom) we have to see.

正:Please tell me who(whom) we have to see.

解析 在賓語從句中,特殊疑問詞how,Why,where,what,who(whom)等本身起連接作用,並且有意義,所以不能再用連接代詞that.

注意!在運用賓語從句時,如果主句時態用過去時,則從句一般也要用與過去相關的時態。

sth. costs sb. some money. 某人花了多少錢購某物。

(3)pay表示花費金錢,常與 for 連用,其主語為某人,其句式為:

sb. pays some money for sth. 某人花了多少錢購買某物。

(4)spend表示花費時間和金錢,主語為某人,其句式為:

sb. spends+時間+(in)doing sth. 某人花了多少時間做某事。

sb. spends+金錢+on sth. 某人花了多少金錢做某事。

根據如上四個句式的區別,此句主語為物,應選用動詞cost。

注意!cost的過去式、過去分詞形式都為cost,這一點要牢記。
