現代人眼界開闊，把全球看作地球村，把全世界的人都看成是朋友，長大後還要與外國朋友交流。作為一箇中國人，不僅要懂中文，還要懂外語。而我的英語水平不大好，所以，爸爸、媽媽商量，利用暑假讓我到卓越英語補習。
無論做什麼事，興趣最重要，如果沒有興趣，就會事倍功半。學英語也一樣，有興趣才會學得好。媽媽帶我到了卓越英語，先讓我試讀一下，看看有沒有興趣。上課了，一位年輕的老師走進教室，先讓我們聽一首叫《醜小鴨》的英語歌，一邊播放音樂，一邊表演，挺有意思的。老師教的內容其實就是歌裏唱的內容。我目不轉睛地盯着老師的一舉一動，兩節課學得很專心，也很有興趣。於是，媽媽幫我報了名，我便成了卓越英語的一員。
我被編入B31班，學習《英語語音過關》。教我們這一班的是曾老師，國字臉，鼻樑上架着一副近視眼鏡。他總讓我們在快樂中學習知識，我們都很喜歡他。同時，我還認識了兩類同學，一類是吵吵鬧鬧、愛開小差的搗蛋鬼，另一類是安安靜靜、用心學習的好學生。在卓越英語，每個同學都有自己的英文名字，我的英文名字叫Tony（託尼），可大家都叫我“掏泥”。
在卓越英語，我學得很努力，老師一教我就懂，字寫得也不錯，老師經常誇我。但我記性不大好，有時候舉起手來想發言，卻不知道説什麼。我想，這是基礎不紮實的緣故，還得多下功夫。
於是，我不僅在學校裏學，還在家裏學。老師發給我們每人兩張《英語語音過關》碟片，讓我們在家裏聽。下午和晚上家裏的台式電腦被姐姐“統治”着，所以，我每天早上很早起來聽碟片讀英語。每天放學回家，都要進行鞏固，攻守並進。我的家庭作業幾乎都是對的。
時間過得飛快，暑假快要結束了，我又要回到環山小學了。在新的學期裏，我會更加努力，更加認真的，少點讓爸爸、媽媽替我操心。同時，我真希望學校裏的每位老師都像卓越英語的曾老師那樣，讓我們在快樂中學到知識。

As far as I am concerned, the students should have a more rational attitude toward certificate, because such certificates do not necessarily represent one’s ability. For me, inner ability speaks louder than certificates, which can only be compared to appearance. Opportunities only arise when you are excellent enough in your field.
