own和hold是什麼意思

owning springs and streams means control,...... 要用holding 來替代也是可以的，但不能直接換詞，可以這樣表達：Holding the rights of springs and streams means control..........

例子：shares 和 stocks 都是股票的意思，但shares 是指個人或集團擁有公司的.部分股票，而stock 是指一家公司的所有股票。因此，不能説：I own the stocks of that company, 只能用 I own the shares of that company。那我硬要用 stocks 來表達，可以嗎？當然可以，但猶如上述，不能直接換詞替代，應該這麼説：I own part of the stocks of that company。
