狀語從句的省略結構
在英語中，當主句和從句的主語一致且從句的位於動詞含有be或是it is/was..結構時，通常可把從句中的主語和be動詞省略。
Eg. When (you are) crossing the street , you must be careful.
If (I am) invited, I’ll attend the party.

②that (句中的第一個that引導 從句;第二個that (或this)相當與so,意思是 “那麼(或這麼)”,修飾形容詞或副詞)

思考：除了that, so意為“如此”，表示程度以外，還有哪個詞也有這種用法？試舉例説明
too…to do sth .太...而不能…；這一結構中，後面的不定式to do sth.前可加上邏輯賓語：構成too…for sth./sb. to do sth.。
Eg. The book is too difficult for him to understand.

句中gone為形容詞，一般作表語，表示“消失；去世；離開”。
Eg. The days when we could only study English on the radio are gone.

find oneself doing sth. “發現自己（不知不覺地）幹某事或出於某種情況”
find+賓語+賓語補足語中賓補可以為形容詞，副詞，名詞，介詞短語，過去分詞，動詞-ing形式。
Eg. After walking for two hous, they found themselves coming to a small river in the forest.
Then I found myself surrounded by a group of children.
注意：find 後的賓補一般不用不定式，但可用to be, 且常可省去。
with somebody doing 在句中充當伴隨狀語，修飾動詞stand 。
Eg. The baby was lying quietly with his mother (sing) softly at his bedside.

這是一個主從複合句，that引導一個定語從句，修飾 ,在定語從句中有一個when引導的 從句。
Eg. Obama answered the questions that the reporters asked when he returned from Mexico.

7.A blind person like me can’t get across the road without help, except in a fog like this.(page 3,lines54-55)
①get across 表示“穿過（馬路，橋等）；使人瞭解，解釋清楚”
Eg: The bridge fell down just after we got across it.
I just can’t get across to him.
②except 是介詞，表示“除…外”，其後所接的內容不包括在句中所指內容的範圍以內，常與all, every 等詞連用。
Eg. I like all kinds of music except jazz. 我喜歡各種音樂，除了爵士樂。（不喜歡爵士樂）
I go to school by bike except when it is raining.除雨天外我都騎車上學。（雨天不騎車）
注意：besides 與 except 含義不同。前者表示“除了…還…”，其後所接的內容包括在句中所致內容的範圍以內，常與more,other, else,also等詞連用。
Besides football, I’m also interested in volleyball and badminton.
除了足球，我還對排球和羽毛球感興趣。（也對足球感興趣）
At the weekend, besides doing my homework, I listen to music and surf the Internet.
