上課時，老師給我們説：“需要購買錄音機和磁帶作為輔助工具。”回到家裏我就急忙給爸爸媽媽説了需要錄音機和磁帶的事情。媽媽告訴我：“輔助工具很重要，但是上課專心聽講更加重要。現在我們去買吧。”
錄音機和磁帶買回來了，媽媽告訴我怎麼使用。我就打開錄音機開始聽起來了：先揹着書聽一遍，然後揹着書跟讀一遍，最後我看着書跟讀一遍。現在該我關了錄音機讀課文了，我一看課文，呀，我只能勉強用英語説出課文中人物的名字，其他的就不知道怎麼讀了。這可把我急壞了，恨不得把書給撕了。媽媽安慰我説：“不要着急，事情需要一步一步的來完成，着急是沒有用的.。我們換個方式來練習一下？”媽媽和我就象課文裏的人物一樣來對話，介紹自己的名字和打招呼。幾遍下來，我發覺我漸漸可以完全讀課文了，這個方法真不錯！
讀完了課文，該聽寫了。我先看看單詞表吧，哇！有的單詞字母好多，我得好好記清楚，字母少的就看一遍。開始聽寫了，糟糕，我只顧去記字母多的單詞，字母少的反而沒有記住。不管了，這些不知道的單詞胡編亂造也要寫完。由於剛才一着急，字母多的單詞也忘記了一些，只好空在那裏了，最後錯了不少。第二次也好不到哪裏去。第三次了，媽媽説，再不全對的話，就把每個單詞抄寫一篇。這次我一定要認真記牢，反覆在心裏默寫幾遍，做到萬無一失，要不然，罰抄每個單詞一篇可不是好玩的。這次我滿懷信心了，當然也全部正確了。
今天，我初次接觸英語，也是經歷了一些曲折吧。從中我也體會到，學習不同的東西需要用不同的方式去對待，但是，有一點少不了，那就是刻苦！
