I like traveling on foot With my brother in holidays. At the very beginning, I felt very tired. I got out of breath so easily. Then my brother started to tell me some interesting stories. We walked and walked while he didn't stop telling stories. We walked a long way without knowing. Then my brother asked me, "Are you still feeling tired?" The feelings of tiredness were already out of my mind.

My Imaginary Trip Around the World

If someone offered to pay all my expenses for a month's holiday anywhere in the world, I would feel very surprised and excited. It would be difficult to decide where I wanted to go. Should I go to one place or lots of different places? If I went to one country, I could see and understand a lot about it. If I went to lots of countries, my holiday would be more interesting and more exciting. I think I would decide to fly around the world and to visit three different countries. The countries I would visit would be Australia, the United States of America and Kenya.

If I went to Australia, I would stay there for about two weeks. I am sure it would be very interesting to visit a country which is so different from my own. Before I went there, I would write one of my Australian friends. I would suggest that if it were possible, he should spend a week with me visiting Aboriginal tribes① in the northern part of Australia. I would really like to find out how the Aboriginal people live in Australia today. My friend could explain what we saw and he could translate what people said because he majored② in Aboriginal studies at Queens land University. While I was visiting Australia, I hope I could also see some of the large cities, such as Sydney and Melborne.

If I went to the United States I would stay there about a week. I expect I would start by visiting New York. I have heard that New York is a very exciting city. I imagine that there are lots of interesting things tourists like very much, that the buildings are greatly out of the ordinary and that the food is very varied③. After I had stayed two or three days in New York, I would fly to San Francisco. I hope I could stay with my relations who live there and I would visit the city and other parts of California.

Finally, I would fly to Kenya where I would stay for about a week. There are three things I would like to do in Kenya. First, I hope I could visit the coast because I would like to see the old Arab cities and enjoy the beautiful beaches. Next, I would like to visit a Game Reserve④. I imagine the wild animals----the lion, elephant and hippopotamus⑤----are very exciting and beautiful. Finally, I would like to visit the Mountains of Kenya where I can see snow on the Equator.

If someone offered me this money, I would he amazed. Unfortunately, 1 do not think this will ever happen and I doubt if I shall ever visit these countries.

This month, I will travel to Changsha and Zhangjiajie with my two friends, which is supposed to be a seven-day trip. We will set out on 10th, June. Now, we have prepared many things, snacks and medicines included. Firstly, we will go to Changsha by plane. The tickets are cheap, so it’s a good choice to save time. We will stay there for two days. The main goal staying there is to enjoy the delicious food in Changsha.

My friend has prepared a map of must-tries and I believe they must be good. Then we will go to Zhangjiajie by train. It’s not so far from Changsha, taking about five hours to get there. Zhangjiajie is famous for its wonderful mountains. The sceneries there are amazing that no one should miss. But we will have a tough journey for climbing high mountains, which is not easy for us all.

This is why we will stay there for longer. In the end, we will go home by train. This is my plan for the journey. I am sure it will be a wonderful and fruitful journey.

Have been a travelling by train for about 3h, the journey was tiring. I arrived in our province's capital city-Nanning,a green city in south China.

I met ,then she showed me around the downtown including Walmart,Xingning walking street, the bund, ect. There is a drinks machine in the street that offers passers by free drinkable water. They had the same thing in my city, but people used the water to wash their hands which ruined the machines. On the contrary, Ningningese tend to protect every piece of public property. When a little boy wanted to wash his hands, his mother stopped him immediately and told him," **,you should not use the water to wash your hands, the water is for drinking."

In the evening I walked to see the Guangxi Peoples' Hall and Mendzhidao shopping mall. The next day,I cycled to Langdong new district where the Nanning international exhibition is located. The exhibition is built for CAEXPO. The bike broke during my way back, but a student from Guangxi University kindly gave me a lift. On the last day i got up early to go to Qingxiushan Park.

There I enjoyed the scenery and prayed to the buddhas for my future.

the past ages of man have all ben carefully labeled by anthropologists. descriptions like ‘palaeolithic man’, ‘neolithic man’, etc., neatly sum up whole periods. when the time comes for anthropologists to turn their attention to the twentieth century, they will surely choose the label ‘legless man’. histories of the time will go something like this: ‘in the twentieth century, people forgot how to use their legs. men and women moved about in cars, buses and trains from a very early age. there were lifts and escalators in all large buildings to prevent people from walking. this situation was forced upon earth-dwellers of that time because of their extraordinary way of life. in those days, people thought nothing of traveling hundreds of miles each day. but the surprising thing is that they didn’t use their legs even when they went on holiday. they built cable railways, ski-lifts and roads to the top of every huge mountain. all the beauty spots on earth were marred by the presence of large car parks.’

the future history books might also record that we were deprived of the use of our eyes. in our hurry to get from one place to another, we failed to see anything on the way. air travel gives you a bird’s-eye view of the world- or even less if the wing of the aircraft happens to get in your way. when you travel by car or train a blurred image of the countryside constantly smears with the urge to go on and on: they never want to stop. it is the lure of the great motorways, or what? and as for sea travel, it hardly deserves mention. it is perfectly summed up in the words of the old song: ‘i joined the navy to see the world, and what did i see? i saw the sea.’ the typical twentieth-century traveler is the man who always say ‘i’ve been there,’ you mention the remotest, most evocative place-names in the world like el dorado, kabul, irkutsk and someone is bound to say ‘i’ve been there’—meaning, ‘i drove through it at 100 miles an hour on the way to somewhere else.’

when you travel at high speeds, the present means nothing: you live mainly in the future because you spend most of your time looking forward to arriving at some other place. but actual arrival, when it is achieved, is meaningless. you want to move on again. by traveling like this, you suspend all experience; the present ceases to be a reality: you might just as well be dead. the traveler on foot, on the other hand, lives constantly in the present. for him traveling and arrving are one and the same thing: he arrives somewhere with every step he makes. he experiences the present moment with his eyes, his ears and the whole of his body. at the end of his journey he feels a delicious physical weariness. he knows that sound, satisfying sleep will be his: the just reward of all true travelers.

Travelling is a very good activity. When you get tired of your work or study, or when you have free time, you can go to a beautiful place to enjoy the beauty of nature or other cities. You can breathe fresh air, meet different people and make friends with them. It’s good for your health .

But sometimes, travelling is not an enjoyable thing. For example, the weather can be changeable. There may be rain when you travel. You may catch a cold or be ill while travelling.

Before going on a trip, you must get everything ready. Firstly, you must have clear information about the weather. Secondly, ask a friend to go with you so that you can help each other. Thirdly, you must be careful everywhere and try not to cause accidents. If you do this, you will surely enjoy your travel.
